Week 13: Grace Kelly. My Eliza J Pink Dress

I discovered Eliza J on Nordstrom’s website when I was looking for an outfit inspired by Grace Kelly. It was love at first sight! The delicious pastel pink colour, elegant 50s silhouette, rose lace, and a full crisp skirt; the dress was rapidly added to my shopping cart.

When the dress arrived, my husband immediately asked if they had it in other colours (as a matter of fact they DO) and that I should purchase them all! The moment I put this dreamy pink dress on I felt incredibly feminine and classy. The silhouette of the dress is very flattering and makes my waist look tiny.

I felt really lucky to find something so similar to Grace Kelly's signature style and in one of her favourite colours.

These wonderful photos were taken by my friend Agne Gadišauskaitė at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Eliza J has other gorgeous pieces (check out my new favourites at the end of this post!). The brand's dresses and skirts are all beautiful, very feminine, and have a fabulous vintage feel I adore.

Week 10: Timeless Essentials. Casual Chanel Look

On my list of wardrobe essentials (you can find it here) I included a Chanel-esque tweed jacket and an IT bag.

Today, I wanted to show you a more modern and casual interpretation of a classic Chanel look and incorporate two base items from my closet - a gorgeous Chanel bag and a tweed jacket.  The jacket is actually from the Sheinside online store, but with the help of a Chanel brooch found at Liberty in London, it looks much more expensive than it is.

I really wanted to keep the look modern and simple, therefore I opted for a white Armani tank top and lovely shorts from Walter Baker. I think the look is very chic, but it's still effortlessly casual and easy to pull off.

Week 10: Timeless Essentials. The Trench Coat

As I mentioned here, trench a coat is a must-have piece in every aspiring stylish lady's wardrobe. I do own a classic Burberry trench coat (below third from the right in the collage), however today I wanted to show you a modern interpretation of the classic trench coat look (think Marlene Dietrich or Audrey Hepburn as shown in the collage).

I am absolutely in love with this Keanu Trench by NYC designer Walter Baker and I already had it in beige (people who followed me on my old blog probably remember it), but now I also have it in white. It is seriously one of the most gorgeous pieces I have ever owned. Leather sleeves and contrasting colours give the classic trench silhouette a very sexy and bold makeover.
I have put some links at the end of the post as always so you can steal the look for yourself!

Today I am sharing another pastiche of Audrey Hepburn's look in Breakfast at Tiffany's. You can see my first look inspired by the film here.

What do you think about this all-pink look? What other film inspired outfits would you like to see?

Week 3: Cleopatra. My Egyptian Queen Look

Modern version of Cleopatra's Fashion Look. Gold dress, black wig and signature cat-eye make up. By Ulia Ali

I am very excited to share my modernised version of Cleopatra look with you that was shot at the Metropolitan Museum of Art by my fellow blogger Julia Fashionista. We started the shoot at the famous Sackler Wing (part of the Egyptian part of the MET) with its Temple of Dendur, surrounded by the pool that represents the Nile river.

Almost immediately after we started shooting, I was surrounded by tourists asking to take photographs with me. There were big families, couples, students, kids. All of different nationalities and all wanted to take a picture with "Cleopatra" and not with ancient priceless treasures of history around them. I felt bad refusing them as everyone was so nice and friendly, so I posed and posed for 20 minutes until... we were asked by the MET representative to be anywhere, BUT the Egyptian room as we cause distraction!

Initially I was upset by the whole incident, but luckily we found another beautiful naturally lit room at the MET and took wonderful images. It is, quite interesting, that the statue I am posing next to is The Libyan Sibyl created by William Wetmore.

I remember posing next to it and thinking how it reminds me of Cleopatra. So imagine my surprise when I during my research on images of Cleopatra in art, I found out that William Wetmore also created almost identical to The Libyan Sibyl, sculpture of Cleopatra!

Enjoy and let me know what do you think about the look!
