Theme 46. REVOLVE Outfits. Dresses for a Date and Summer Trips to Europe

Revolve Dresses on blogger Ulia Ali vs on models. Honest review on outfits for wedding and date night

Dear Online Girlfriend, every time I shop online I have no idea if I will look as good as the models pictured. Previously I shared a few articles with my reviews with side to side photos of me and the beautiful models (click here to access all honest Revolve reviews). After years of ordering from REVOLVE, I learnt what fabrics and cuts suits me the best and which styles I probably should avoid (those mini sweater dresses? Most of the time are too short on me, which I demonstrated in previous posts. Bear in mind, I am only 5’ 5” = 165 cm! ).

Right now, we are in the heat of the summer season and if lucky, vacations and trips to Europe. The outfits I am about to review will be perfect for all your hot weather and early fall romantic getaways, girls trips and date nights (and days). So get comfortable and plunge into this detailed photo review that I hope will help you shop and look even more dazzling.

And if you have any questions please DM me on Instagram @uliaali . It makes me tremendously happy when I get to connect with you, girls and feel useful.

Let us begin!

I have been eyeing this vintage-style LPA polka dot dress for a bit, and when I finally put it on I immediately felt that this is the dress I will not get bored of for many many years!

It slightly reminds of the iconic Pretty Woman look, the one Julia Roberts wore for a polo match, and has a flattering cut that makes your waist look tiny. It is easy to adjust how tight you want your waistline to be snatched by the tie.

It is a bit on pricey side, but looks so chic and timeless that it will serve for a long time.

Buy it here before it sells out again!

Speaking of polka dots, I finally succumbed and got another bestselling Majorelle Brady Dress, and it looked better than I imagined!

While this sexy tube dress with a slit is flattering, there is a way less room to “breathe”. There is no zipper or buttons, so prepare to squeeze into the dress.

I wore it on my vacation on Mexico City. I also think it will be a wonderful addition in a wardrobe of a bride, whether for a honeymoon, bridal shower or bachelorette parties.

Other Polka Dot styles I love are below. I actually have the Bellah Mini dress and so happy to see it back in stock. Hands down one of my MOST worn summer mini dresses. Easy to put on, not to short and looks very pretty. I am giving it 10/10!

This Harmony dress by h:ours is definitely a risque choice, but it is a KILLER look for a sexy date with your man or a night out with friends if you are feeling daring.

The top part sits a bit higher than I wished for, but overall it is an amazingly seductive twist on a little black dress.

Floral Beauty

If you are ever looking for a high quality, beautiful, feminine, romantic dresses, I suggest you check out Hemant and Nandita brand.

I LOVE their dresses and I find them a very classy choice for a summer wedding.

I wore this dress on my trip to Cartagena, Columbia, and it is a available in a slightly different print: Veena Dress

All other Heman & Nandita styles HERE.

Michael Costello Set

I love a good two-piece set as you can wear them together and separately. The quality of this Costello set is good and it comes in a few colors (I love my green one, but the black one is a classic too).

This is another original two-piece dress that is sexy, yet classy at the same time. It is sold together and, GOOD NEWS, it is now on major sale!

Lovers & Friends Midi Dress

I love wearing the navy top separately and it looks very stylish with white linen pants or classic denim jeans. Such a great find!

Theme 33: CUBA DIARY. Cuban Vibes

Yes, at the end I want everything to be easily searchable and categorised, so everyone who visits my website can find ALL the information they need for their upcoming trip to a specific location, or find everything related to Star Wars, for example, with constantly updated looks, book lists and gifts ideas. You can already check some of my "themed issues" on the ARCHIVE page by the way!

I remember when I started this blog I didn't imagine my social platforms and the website will grow so rapidly. I always wanted to make Pastiche.today more like a themed magazine, however changing themes weekly has been a major struggle lately and I wasn't able to keep up with posting all the travels, events and amazing collaborations I was so privileged to experience. Then a light bulb went off in my head and I realised that I just should make Pastiche.today more organised, and while limiting the number of THEMES, I can update them like little magazine issues that NEVER get old!

But lets return to our Cuban dream trip. Everyone who knows me well, notices that I love choosing my wardrobe for the trips and my style changes and adapts depending on the destination (which is perfect for someone who loves doing THEMED posts, right?!)  I wore a lot of white and hues of blue in Hamptons, didn't bring a lot of accessories and opted for simplistic luxury bags (I will share my Hamptons weekend with you soon!)

For Cuba on the other hand I went overboard. As far as I could! I brought flower crowns, colourful dresses in 50s inspired silhouettes, sexy crop tops, flowy skirts, big eye-popping bright earrings, bracelets, sandals. Parrots! Feathers! Flowers! And I think I made it work. I tried to emphasise the beauty of Cuba with my style choices.

One of my favorite outfits to wear in Cuba was this sultry polka dot three-piece outfit from SHEIN. It is quite risque due to its high slit, but it is perfect for a tropical getaway! I have received so many compliments when wearing it (and I also wore it in Miami for my birthday dinner with my family btw!). While I wouldn't wear a flower crown anywhere BUT Cuba and countries with similar vibes, these burgundy flowers looked really good with my SHEIN ensamble, don't you think?

I have linked my outfit and similar items I love below. Can you imagine that this polka dot three-piece dress is $20?!

Week 21: Greek. eShakti Review

Greece is a country of beautiful and feminine women with striking features. Only last week I discovered one of the most famous Greek actresses of the 60s, Tzeni Karezi, and decided to create a vintage inspired look to pay tribute to her style and beauty.

To be honest with you, the photoshoot turned out more "belezza Italiana" than Greek, but I decided to share the results with you this week anyway :)

This pretty polka dress I am wearing is from eShaktieShakti offers custom clothing for women of all sizes. It is quite incredible how fast they created and delivered the high quality dress which was exactly what I wanted and fitted me perfectly! Having a 32D chest and a tiny waist might not seem like a problem, but it is definitely hard to find a dress that fits my chest and doesn't hang loose on my waist. Luckily, clothes at eShakti are made exactly for your body using measurements which you provide before making an order. Additionally, you can fully customise any piece and choose the neckline, skirt length, add/remove pockets and so on, which means you get a truly unique piece for an astonishingly affordable price. Check eShakti out and see for yourself!

I think eShakti is especially great for bridesmaids dresses. I have linked a few of my favourites for you:

Week 17: Rita Hayworth Is a Babe. 40s Style Goddess.

When I received this polka dot top from Shein I tried it on with jeans and denim shorts first, and it looked really fun and cute. But I just knew I had to create a vintage inspired look when I saw how beautiful the top looked paired with my favourite ball gown skirt (similar here).

This outfit combo reminds me of Christian Dior's New Look from the 1940s and of stunning Old Hollywood actresses, especially Rita Hayworth who, in my opinion, deserves more recognition. Therefore, I am dedicating this Theme Week to 40s babe, Rita Hayworth

I first saw Rita in Gilda and she stole my heart. I will talk more about her and her style in one of my posts later this week, but today I am sharing my “40s Style Goddess” outfit inspired by a few of Rita's signature looks. Today’s look was shot in Soho by the amazing photographer DCP New York.

Top - Shein, Skirt - old, but found similar on Shein, shoes - Christian Louboutin, Bag - Kenzo (similar).

Hello, World!
